First, the sound: I knew already from the Marshall guitar amps and expecting them a first-class sound experience. Well my expectations were met, but not exceeded. The Stanmore are beautiful and really rich sound from (compared with my Bose SoundLink Gen.1) a real beauty and it's neat loud. So not only good sound but also very powerful. A big plus.
The Processing. The leather is, at least in my, not super well made. At the seams if it goes long back and forth with your finger, it dissolves. That should not be. The pilot switch for On-Off is obviously very cool, as the round switch. Here one is being geared to the style of the 60s and the early Space / Aircraft Age, which I love.
Portability: In fact, I have taken in the Stanmore with suitcases on holiday (aircraft). But again I would not do that too, too big, too heavy (luggage is indeed limited), and above all too bulky. But he has survived both flights. He is current Bound, no fun on the beach, but at home or at the pool.
Value for money: Compared with a Bose SoundLink (about the same price) I have much more on the price. Great design, rich and very good sound. Only because of the lack of battery I am limited with this model, the SoundLink I can just always take.
Nevertheless - recommended for this award very much.
Finally, a small note of the funny kind. Because of Stanmore is not grounded some current flows on the gold metal cable. If I connect only an iPhone 5S, the touchscreen becomes unresponsive, because the metal frame of the iPhone and use as an antenna.
That itself should be going through your head the people of Marshall, which I call a Fail. (Tested with several iPhones). Nevertheless, I am truly excited about this model!
