Rocking Horse? Rocking Monster!

Horehound (Audio CD)

Customer Review

As it is now, then, the new and first album of the "Super-Group" The Dead Weather, consisting of Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age), Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs) and mastermind Jack White , of the drumsticks taking here in the hands, as at the beginning of his career frequently. And you can hear them out already, somehow, the effects of White Stripes and Raconteurs, but then, suddenly, everything turns out differently.
"Horehound" starts still tame and expectations-enhancing with "60 Feet Tall". It rustles, rattles and then you hear the first instruments, this blues guitar, pounding drums, after 50 seconds is the vocals of Alison Mosshart and you know the rhythm determines everything !! After three minutes, the song finds its Drive and comes out an explosive blues rockers.

This is followed by "Hang You From The Heavens", the first single from the album and "I Cut Like A Buffalo", which now also Jack White can use his vocal cords. The song is rather slow, but full of groove and the organ game selects the song.
"So Far From Your Weapon" comes the only song from the pen alone Alison Moss Hart and therefore comes across just as cool, her songwriter can be heard qualities like the Kills. "Treat Me Like Your Mother", the second single of the plate is so full of energy, full of tempo changes and breathtaking that you think now The Dead Weather have uncovered all cards. Not even close. It may follow the two best songs on the album: "Rocking Horse" and "New Pony". First comes a gloomy, psychedelic garage rocker with Stimmverzerrern therefore! And then ... "New Pony" ...
... 1,2,3,4 stamps, rocks and bluest it so great as in the best moments of the White Stripes debut album or even as Black Sabbath. Sweaty rhythm and Alison Mosshart, who repeatedly asks the middle of the break with dirty voice "Come over here pony!" Madness! A Bob Dylan song gecovert awesome.
"Bone House" knows how to impress with guitar effects that summarizes all the enthusiasm of the troops and the end again Mosshart completely out of hand: "I build a house, I build a home!" Then "3 Birds", an instrumental piece surrounded by comic Sounds & Noises encloses perfectly the aura of this panel. The next "No Hassle Night" - No, frantically begins the song only at the beginning and then continues to oscillate about in the night, the darkness and the dark, as it did in "Rocking Horse".

You can feel after the first few songs that "Horehound" an exceptional album that really leaves no wish unfulfilled. Expectations are more than exceeded and should fall completely without expectations in your listening pleasure, you will probably be blown away by the flashes of the band.
"Will there be enough water, When My Ship Comes In? ' Questions White and Mosshart last, super abrundenen song. Dark piano sounds, passionate guitar, slowly enhancing ends "Horehound". And I ask, there will be plenty of applause for this performance, after this monster album?
