Sony Xperia Z1 Compact
Sony Xperia Z3 compact
Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini
I need my phone to call, write Whatsapp and check Facebook. In addition, it should be robust.
At first I was looking forward to the compact Z3, which combines high-performance and yes compact dimensions in itself. In business, however, I had the impression that it is extremely sensitive because of the glass back and scratches and fingerprints magically attracts. Zusätzllich I get phones from glass rather skeptical. For me it is a commodity and not a status symbol. My guess confirmed Amazon reviews and it did not come into question for me.
The Z1 Compact has factory-fitted with a highly scratch-prone screen overlay. If you remove them, you lose your guarantee and the Sony logo which was printed on the film. Since Sony has been known not to offer the best service and spare parts are rarely in stock, I looked at the S5 mini closely.
Samsung is by now something like the Volkswagen among smartphones and even when the S5 mini no design masterpiece is, so it is durable due to its plastic casing and gives the impression that it could put away the odd fall easily. The battery is replaceable by the removable back. So I do not have to worry about me, that the cost of a battery replacement exceed the value of mobile phones in two years. The back of the S5 mini is rubberized pleasant and not as slippery as glass or aluminum.
Included are a Quick Start Guide, a micro-USB to USB data cable (USB 2.0, white wire to black unit), a 1A power supply, headphones and the battery with 2100 mAh.
The display like that. It is bright and displays content in clear and sharp. The automatic brightness control works perfectly and makes sense to me.
I immediately installed the latest update, the device then reset to factory settings and everything runs smoothly and quickly. Small stuttering from time to time occur, but I had in any of my Android devices.
From the battery life I am currently a positive surprise. Especially in Standby, the device consumes me with only 0.1% per hour very little. But also as a power user should get through the day.
Only the non-existent haptic feedback I'm missing something. But because the device has me convinced otherwise, I'll keep it.
*** UPDATE *** 12/30/14
The battery is charging me with the included AC adapter (1 amp) to slow, so I bought yesterday a new original Samsung with 2 amps at Conrad (Model: ETA U90EBEGSTD). The battery is charging now on much more quickly.
*** UPDATE *** 03/02/2015
My S5 mini hanged himself after 6 weeks of daily use, no time or even frozen.
