Did not want to nail some years ago the mic to the wall of the nice uncle of the Geto Boys? That's right, according to "The Fix" should be concluded, the good had enough of the gangsta posturing of the new school, rap became too friendly radio!
With his new album "Emeritus" But a worthy conclusion to a long career is finally found, after all, he is already 38 years old.
The album is surprisingly quiet, not so due to its partial hard flow. "ItŽs not a Game" has more James Bond Love Story Feeling as it is worthy of a proper GZS.
"Who are they" featured among others Slim Thug, who had disappeared a long time. The Beat has Dr.Dre format and the track is really well-Bass Moderately well forward.
"Soldier Story" has Z-RO at the start, and this is, even though I personally do not like him, in tip-top shape! Even if he gives a lecture about high gasoline prices, and me with it makes it clear that he only max. an average level of education has, so the beat is unfortunately tailor-made for him.
"Redemption" has the typical Geto Boys sound, unfortunately missing at least WILLIE D., but otherwise good.
"High Note" hey hey, it goes again around pssssssssssst. Smoking? Very funky and laid back the track, reminds me of the good Seventies Movies and the streets of SF - Super!
"Emeritus" is at the end of something opaque, not really good the beat, which should have been better.
Then the outro: It's the last thing we will hear from him, it sounds a lot like a ceremony that one keeps at fallen soldiers. If that was the end, I bow my head - although I would have expected a little more in the end .....
