My own short, intense experiences are broadly in line with the published images ...
The most important: for currently just under EUR 450, you get a compact camera that lets old aussehn uncritical light everything below 30MPix (ie medium format or Nikon D810 + Otuii).
An absolutely fabulous image quality - for example the display of a 5K iMac! Also, a Leica M (240) with ApoSummicron 2/75 cometh NOT with - in terms micro contrast and image effects!
About the known quirks I could overlook:
- The necessary software SigmaProPhoto is lame and poor,
- Usable up to ISO 400 at most, in principle,
- Slow, no problem, I lichtbildnere landscapes,
- It lacks an EVF - keep away camera and look at the screen is good for nothing: because of camera shake in low light, when the sun sees nothing more ...
Exclusion criterion for me is dealing with the white balance - it's so bad, was for me from the Internet is not clear enough out! It is still in normal light conditions where other cameras have no problems at all, not possible with reasonable effort, the colors should get halfway correctly! Neither in Sigma Photo Pro (Version 6.2.0.2484) still in Iridient Developer, current version.
& Every - even in landscapes with uncritical light a manual adjustment per gray card - it can not be!
Too bad, missed an opportunity, the Foveon technology would at reasonable product management had (integration in ACR, Lightroom, EVF, faster processor, more sensible Auto white balance, longer battery life) real potential to Game Changer
