There it is again, the man who makes music scrap, of ZZ Top is to strike fear in one person in the situation and actually completely played out of competition.
The man who started with nothing and sometimes it still has most of the left, as he also named his third album (I Started Out With Nothin And Still Got Most Of It Left).
This is nothing but extremely original, wild, raw, unadjusted, minimalist, great and rousing blues music. No more and no less. No contemporary plays or embodies today Blues so directly, peppy and yet so contemporary. Completely incomprehensible, therefore, that he has not long since replaced the ollen Clapton as a contemporary synonym for the Blues.

The now 71 year old Seasick Steve, the so called, because he is just seasick has to tell a veritable story with all clichés. Broken home, tearing the early teens, so as not to get embarrassed to shoot the abusive stepfather and then life on the road. He does not mince his words, this makes his live performances a real experience. Since the 60's as a session musician pretty umtriebig, later also as a producer, but he brought it only from 2001 to own productions. Since his albums were always better, musical or sound harmonious, mature.

Now on to later fame get in the meantime, he cultivates the image of Hobo with a consistency that has no equal. His guitars when they are because the guitars seem likely to fall apart, as they hergäben still usable sounds, let alone could withstand its rough style of play. Most recently, he had this "Piece of S ***" as he called it, this red electric guitar with only three strings, which brought him a friend, transformed into an instrument. Not as he tended by it, he wrote no better all around his songs. And with this scrap sounds his sound full, brutal, than with ZZ Top a Gibson Custom-full equipment.
Against Steve himself as a Jack White with his vintage guitars acts like a schoolboy still experimenting. Nevertheless, this is not too good to give him the opening pitch for his next project. For Jacks hubcap Steve sought nor a back, and all sorts of other scrap material and was ready not only to be a new instrument, but also the motto of the new disc.

And with this album it sounds musically again versatile and mature. Two years ago he presented with "You Can not Teach An Old Dog New Tricks", an album that sounded very good and homogeneous, but did not include his most interesting songs. Hubcap Music offers both. Vorneweg "Down On The Farm ', whose powerful riff and a fortiori its Groove ZZ Top truly sends to the second row. But the soul ball adigen "Purple Shadows" in a duet with Elizabeth Cook and "Coast Is Clear" have it in them and show a whole new side of the musical craftsman. Just that Jack White is located at somewhat psychedelic "The Way I Do" as the lead guitarist and the honor of "Home" beats even the direction of a Coutry.
In addition to Steve and Dan Magnusson, the congenial drummer should (also live) to be at his side, for the irrepressible groove and the shovel more responsible.

The LP (incl. Download code) comes in single and cover with all the texts printed inner sleeve, is working very clean, hard and pleasing sounds good. The untitled piece 12 thus provides the probably bestgehörte tractor noise in music history. And that says it all.
