Second best Selig album

Selig is one of the few bands that I endure German texts. For those who do not know the band, I would describe it as follows: One-third of Rio Reiser, a third 90-grunge and one-third of modern Deutschpop.

1996 I am "here" came to the album, which I love very much as before, and with whom I associate many feelings of nostalgia. But even then I liked the other two albums less: the firstfruits "Blessed" was much too shallow-pop and I presented him soon. And at "Blender" was me experimenting too far with the electronic effects.

In this respect, I am more of a "here" - as a "Blessed" fan. The improvised, psychedelic lyrics and rich grunge sound, which, little tendency in dark, I find in "Here" just great.

When I now the comeback album "And finally infinity" have heard me has first and foremost a nostalgia wave rolled over: Yes, that really sounds like Selig. But the second Listen, I note that it does not entrain me, as before, the "here". At least this time has been waived electrical experiments, but unfortunately the new album is based at least as much at first-how on "Here" - the lyrics are much more concrete, are often a little too touchy-feely me, and also the gloomy echoes one must unfortunately miss.

Nevertheless, "And finally Infinity" is a good album with nice melodies and rich sound. It stands out from the usual Deutschpop thus pleasantly from that it has a slightly harder line. In particular, the rather faster song "The old times back" it did to me. On the schmaltzy "I'm so vulnerable" I could have done without contrast. Overall, I already like the new album but better than the first 90 album "Blessed" and the third "Blender".

Who else but I have no problems with the first album from 1994, you'll love the new album certainly.

Now I await with interest the follow-up "for ever and ever" and sincerely hope that it will be there again to go a little more in the direction of "Here".
