Serial interface for new PCs or old peripherals

My Weather Station WS3650-IT has the chance to send stored weather data via the serial interface to a computer. Now I have replaced my old computer and it does not have a serial port. While there are adapters that can be plugged into a USB port and simulate this, but unfortunately they do not work with my weather station. It requires just a real serial port. That reminds me, this board was just right.
They came quickly and came in neat packaging with instructions in German and therefore a driver CD. I plugged it and Windows 8 installed automatically corresponding driver. However, I had the map to reposition again to a different slot, since Windows 8 crashed always after some time. On the other slot no longer happens.
The contact with my weather station could not be contacted and I could secure my weather information. In the device settings of Windows can make various settings such as the number of COM ports.

Conclusion: Personally, I'm in this regard with the card very happy because I can now use my older weather station at the new PC on.
