I love the Shardlake novels, and enjoyed this one. I Was Slightly bored During the passages giving details about ships and sea battles (this is a personal view), ALTHOUGH the dramatic fate of So Many sailors is brilliantly evoked and very moving. A feeling of accuracy, faithfullness to the truth, is prevalent; as in all Sansom's novels. I hope he Does not Consider Shardlake too old to give us Reviews another! Could we-have the pleasure of seeing the tyrant die? Sansom's novels offer a poignant and totally credible depiction of the life of the poor and humble de ces dreadful times, at the mercy of sickness, the whims of the rich and Powerful and the madness of religious fanatics.
