In my very first race with the 920XT I even had disabled the GPS, although speed and distance have been shown relatively accurately on the basis of the motion sensor.
I'm quite happy with the clock. Sometimes I wear it as a normal clock, which they do in everyday life (white / red) then very conspicuous. Since so come remarks if I carry a TV arm ;-) As everyday Suhr they would just a tad bit smaller. Weight and comfort are top on the other hand, the battery life is enough for me. I turn on the device is no longer made.
For the wealth of functions to operate the 920XT is relatively simple. Once adjusted the settings and screens in peace according to his wishes, then you need to start training is to select the sport and there you go. Then I transfer the data via Bluetooth to your iPhone, and thus to Garmin Connect automatically. An independent evaluation of the PC (there used to the Garmin Training Center) no longer exist unfortunately. The most important information and diagrams can be seen right at the iPhone, which is enough for me for a normal workout.
Critique / Wishes:
Floating function: one of the reasons why I bought the 920XT was that I also may be used for swim training him and the annoying counting train in the pool hall finally stops. This works quite well so far, the clock is not annoying while swimming and the evaluations are very useful. What sometimes happens with me, the Forerunner, (usually the first track), when a train is one little scratch. I'm still not quite come behind what I'm doing wrong. That he miscounted, you can see quite clearly outliers on the graph (if you suddenly require twice the time for a train).
Activity Tracker: the Activity Tracker I switched off after the first phase of the game, especially after he has counted during an 8 hour drive away, where you hardly moves, 8,000 steps (or activities). There's something wrong in the algorithm. Here Garmin will hopefully rectify.
Display: The display is easy to read (while swimming) but as a pampered smartphone user, I must say that it's not really color and cool graphics, a graphical dial etc. there is not currently. Perhaps Garmin has chosen this display because power consumption.
Sure, the clock is made for athletes and not for fetishists watches ;-) And for (tri) athlete is probably the best clock that you can currently buy.
