I have the adapter only briefly tried - all ports are working. VGA image was (older model of Acer) stable and without dazzling or wandering colors on a 1920x1080 HD monitor. The HDMI connection also the sound of the mini display ports is passed (which I also considered, but it was mentioned as a important feature).

Prolonged use is still awaited - I bought the adapter for presentations on the road.
