After my Canon 50mm 1.4 unfortunately had a defect, I was looking for a viable replacement. The first thought was, of course, easy to order back the original Canon.
Then I heard that there should also be a great lens from Sigma. Looking through the internet and the forums I have to realize that it does not really give a lot of 50mm lenses for full frame cameras.
So fought through all the reviews and then ordered the Sigma despite the negative indications regarding the autofocus. Apparently that was not so bad with the newer model.
Today the lens arrived, and what can I say ... The thing picks next when focusing miles. In normal ambient light!
Not to fix the self-correction through the menu of a Canon 5D Mark II is enough at the maximum setting.
I've also seen a lot, but that was my first and my last Sigma lens for Canon.
Saves you the trouble, rather buys the somewhat outdated Original ... This works at least :-)
