In terms of content, both supposedly much the same.
The original BP-5 comes from Norway and is pressed into solid biscuit bars, which can be necessary even individually feed directly from the pack. Couples manner packaged, five small rations daily. Finally, each a sip from the canteen as a dessert and good.
The copy called NRG-5 from Germany, take only as a first time dry in the mouth. Under that is the entire rest of the canteen's for rinsing the Food sawdust on it in the oral cavity. The Germans have apparently saved when processing on the press to reveal the product at a lower price on top of that a bit bigger. And probably tacitly overlooked some application variants or simply "he-saves". Therefore one has to copy the Germans probably always cook with water, because of the otherwise not get down the dry sawdust to the touch almost self-decomposing powder-bar with the best intentions. As was definitely saved at the wrong end.
BP-5, however, can also be crushed with a fork, if required, be dissolved in water or milk and cooked as cereal or porridge. And because it's like bread does not specify own dominant flavor, which for example is called "saturation Supplement" to Jerky, fruit or wild herbs. Could fry yourself probably do when nothing else than a greasy pan.
One can use BP-5 so much more!
And this higher variance is worth it to me a few more bucks for original Norwegian's all. If you just in case anyway have to improvise and compromise after all sides, a least the emergency bolt-ration should not shudder five times a day.
