Silicone or TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) ???

The "fine print" I would probably be better read before my order. I am neither a chemist nor I was particularly good in chemistry - but under "Silicone Case" I had imagined something else. The Product (with the important for me magic word "silicon" - equivalent to soft) and the top rating of 4.8 stars ranged for my purchase decision. Unfortunately, a - for me - total bad buy.

Instead of silicone sheath made of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) is made - as I have now read only. As a non-chemist, I must assume that silicone and TPU is not the same. I have several Silicone Cases used (smartphone, tablet) and thought previously that I get a soft and fast arrival and degradable protection for my S4 with this envelope. This is not like that.

The envelope is indeed as described pliable (otherwise you'd never be able to attach the shell), but very limited - but rather hard in my opinion. So that I could pinch still alive. But the fit can still much to be desired. Even the product photo shows that the shell is not parallel. You have to spend a lot of relative strength to raise the cover at all. The first time I is not well managed and had the shell in removing even the whole back cover so under control that those pinning in the envelope with lacked. The second attempt was a little better, but the shell easy to sit at attention. An applied protective film was partially solved on the edge of the screen. This not only looks unsightly and restricts the view a little one - I have to worry that the protective effect in these areas is no longer guaranteed. My expectation and experience of other silicone cases that the envelope arrival quickly, easily and safely, and can break down, has not been fulfilled - quite the contrary. Instead of being safely recharged in the car mount, to be operated and used to befüttern my stereo and me to lead the way by Navi, my phone is now non-risk in the passenger seat - on this annoying fumbling, I just can not be bothered and I have greatest concern that the Protector would then say goodbye soon. An undamaged fall from waist I trust the envelope does not really - the material is probably too hard (or not soft enough) in order to dampen a fall enough can. Clean the surface of the envelope quite like it, but unfortunately it takes fast dirt and fingerprints on (which would be no knock-out criterion for me).

The two included screen protectors I have not yet used. The days of this envelope are counted - to a real silicone skin protects my phone.

I can not provide specific recommendation and advise against the purchase - unless one leaves the shell permanently on phone, bear the hassle of installing, you do not mind the inaccuracy of fit and avoids any fall.
