Positive noticed is my first the size and weight of the mobile phone. With a thickness of 1.3 cm it is much thinner than the 6030, which has by and large identical functions. The weight has decreased noticeably. During the 6030 still had a noticeable weight, probably in particular a reduction in the weight housing has made 1661 handy.
The key press and processing are okay, but not outstanding. While you could clearly distinguish the keys with your finger or with the 6030, the transition in 1661 is fluent. A blind typing is hardly possible here. Is used on the front side a smooth surface, have the same height in the display, housing and keys.
The display has a good brightness, but when the keypad lock is on, to be able to dim the clock or symbols to recognize at first glance. An attitude towards it, I could not find so far unfortunately.
The operation of the software has since been dispensed with a central button in the navigation cross, rather changed for the worse. In many places, settings were omitted and the clarity is less increased. The configuration allows the size of the font used change, so that the readability can be adjusted.
The FM radio unfortunately a function to regulate the volume was omitted. Whoever listens to the way radio may therefore feel much disturbed by the road. Also there is no reasonable transmitter and frequency control more. The surface is now completely designed spartan. I am not enthusiastic.
Likewise, the second Quick Start button (1 links menu in the center, 2nd right) was omitted. This is now no longer possible, for example, just to put the radio on one of the buttons and be able to address so directly. It is always the cumbersome way through the main menu favorite or necessary.
Also not so nice, I find the headset. While in 6030 still reasonable remuneration of plugs were present, it now is black cheap goods. The button for controlling the headset is for it failed more stable when it can no longer open this now and therefore repair itself in doubt.
Contrast, small and handy is the charger. It has an approximate size of 5x7x2cm and fits well in a handbag or the like.
A new feature in 1661 is the built-in flashlight, which is installed at the top of the phone. The light is relatively strong at short distances, but can also be activated only via the menu. Surely that is quite helpful for the nightly search of the keyhole.
Overall, I find the mobile phone as a beginner or Seniorenhandy not bad, but miss but in many places the otherwise superior usability. From me, there are three stars, in particular the processing, usability and the humble radio function to trigger lead.
Addendum: The function to adjust the volume I have now found. When you call the radio you can adjust the volume using the arrow buttons to the left and the right.
