Holla, but that is sometimes a small but impressive success story! The Berlin Psychedelic / vintage rockers KADAVAR are in Underground already cult. But behind this is not monkey business nor any mystical witch curses ... even if the title of KADAVAR-second work "Abra kadavar" This might suggest. No, this is the result of much hard work and at least as much (black?) Passion: Ever since the release of the 2012 debut, the trio from the German capital plays virtually anywhere in the world, the only makeshift mains supply (!) connected is ... or in which at least a reasonable number dressed in retro clothes long beards can be found. Good taste in music is taken for granted! Exactly like their labelmates ORCHID - both bands are by now on "Nuclear Blast"! - To KADAVAR mistyped the bone-dry, warm quirky Doom Rock, which is celebrated by genre luminaries like BLACK SABBATH, LED ZEPPELIN, PENTAGRAM or complete Wino soup for years or decades. Well-informed scene observers know of course long ago that the big retro rock cult for several months is spreading, and the best bands while undoubtedly come from Scandinavia: GRAVEYARD, HORISONT, DEVIL, CRYSTAL CARAVAN, of course WITCHCRAFT ... just the significant mention. More horny so if Germany in this respect can finally times "follow suit". But something of ... !!! The 10 songs of "Abra kadavar" have failed to saustark well by the band, so that a difference in quality to the Swedish colleagues notice at any time. KADAVAR gamble their quirky psychedelic hard rock not only with noticeable enthusiasm, but also in terms of songwriting always at eye level. So bursting numbers like "Black snake", "Abra Kadabra", "Liquid Dreams" (Organ, baby!), "Eye of the storm" or the cool bonus track "The man I shot" just so loveable before arrangements of ancient Seventy-school. The sound creaks, rumbles and grooving wonderful organically in the ears of the listener. Within a few milliseconds followed by a command of the cerebrum, to offset the lower extremities of the body to dance willingness immediately. Kavadar are really a band, where you can not sit still. And that not only know all the insiders Longbeard friends who could ever see the trio "live". Most valuable eye-catcher here: the permanent head banging drums, which the comparison with the Animal from the Muppet show would loose rich to the glory. Great 70's-cinema! To be honest, I want to admit that the "Rhythm for endless minds" not quite come up to the residual material psychedelic swirling. But this will by surefire retro wonder songs like "Dust", the opening track "Come back life", "Doomsday Machine" (the big hit!) And "Fire" compensates (almost even bigger hit!) Effortlessly. Here really sits every guitar riff in the right place ... each bass line to the listener without detours skin directly into the genitals ... every sung syllable sounds as if it were the black Sabbath of "Madman" has personally created. In short KADAVAR belong to me without question among the best bands of the current Vintage / rock boom, because the magical spirit - the congenial interplay of music, lyrics, sound, and cover all the trappings! - The most credible embody. "Abra kadavar" is a great record full of mysticism and dark energy, which mainly makes but a hell of fun. And that's the most important thing, right?
