the starting point was that my Lowepro Flipside 300 something was too small, in which my Canon 50D with attached EF 70-200 2.8L IS II USM with inverted Geli and my EF-S 17-55 2.8 IS USM with inverted Geli, was and a few filters and odds and ends just but still well accommodated. The straps are short, but there is no lap belt and the total weight is more portable. Now I have come to a 100mm 2.8L IS Macro that even the maximum 2x per year, together with a 580 EX II flash and some other odds and ends, with should. By providing an internal height of 400 Lowepro of 15cm so it should be no problem because the lenses are then observed in edgewise with a length of just 14cm incl. Lids.
So ordered the 400, had already tried the Pro Runner 450 because you could see the parts put simply / make so great was the, and still had plenty of reserves, but was me then too huge.
When unpacking the backpack for the price makes a very good impression. The build quality is also OK. However, at opening comes on little skepticism. Halfway backpack height to get in the closed thick back padding inside just to just 13.5 cm.Nur at the top end to get to the above 15cm. The dividers are just 10cm high. Thus `s vinegar a 100mm 2.8 IS edgewise to ask in the backpack when it is not to press on the back. Since the position of Body`s with the scheduled 70-200 2.8 IS is practically defined, namely Boddy up with Tele down, only the other two lenses remains lying sideways to accommodate the backpack down. The 580 EX II and then match up bits and pieces still well inside, and fully the part. To say is even: As the compartment cover to the end can be opened only by about 5 cm, it is difficult there a body with attached 2,8er Tele refer to the greater height of the optics in the upper end to use. It would also provide resist a body with attached heavy 2.8 telephoto with the display me to the ground, padding or not. In my combination consisting of 3 x 2.8 optics and a flash suits against the little brother Flipside 300 only the planned appearance and the flash unit more into it. There is hardly a more reserves.
Now, after the zipper was about and everything was inside up on the shoulder with it. FYI, I'm 1,85m tall normal stature. To make it short. There is no way the straps properly adjusted so that the lap belt is where it belongs. Then, when you select the very long length of the belt to the lap belt in the correct position to no longer fitted above the chest strap that sits very high even when it is pushed to the bottom end (and if you're not careful, it completely out leadership slips). The shoulder belt then sit not right. The Flipside 400 is in my opinion as scheduled without any restrictions completely usable only for people up to 1.75 m. But then everything is fine.
Conclusion for me personally: This backpack includes all parts that I want to remember. Long running comes in this combination not before me. Therefore, I whistle on the lap (which can not be removed). More I do not want to drag out without, therefore, makes it even bigger, heavier and bulkier no sense, even if the proportions then adjust. The whole weighs angeschnalltem tripod and odds and ends and at least 10,5 Kg. Up to 6 additional lenses? Well then, but only what the EF-S class 3.5 / 5.6 etc.
The backpack was slightly longer shoulder straps and genuine 15cm Inside height over the entire length a really great in this class a little at top end portion. I'll keep it, because it is the smallest suitable for my piece of equipment.
Additional info: without limitations, exact and I tried, the Lowepro Pro executor 300. This was the size of the unbeatable favorite place. But the empty alone weighs about 3 kg. I would not even draufsatteln still just me.
