I did not want to admit to myself all this, but had invested heavily in 5-year-old bridge camera and in good weather the photos were always super good.
Have long considered and then tested on SLR cameras of some acquaintance.
The new investment should be limited, but qualitatively reflect my claims.
1.Test was Canon EOS 1000D Super camera, but to understand to use immediately. Test photos were good but not outstanding.
There was some contrast.
2.Test was Sony A 200. The camera is a little big hands, not just handy for me and added even that no SD memory card fit.
3. Testgroup Olympus E 420. I know Olympus has the best dust collection system, but I liked the camera visually.
4.Test was my new Nikon D40. The lies in the hands, makes sharp, high-contrast pictures.
Despite or perhaps because of 6 MP 6 MP it is absolutely cheap and A3 printouts super useful. More needs only the hammer hard professional.
The D40 is super easy to use, can be partly explained by itself, has no dust collecting system.
Property me an additional 18-200 lens concerned and thus come very rarely, in the embarrassment lens changes. (Dust has no chance)
Have been extensively tested in the meantime. Not all photos turn out.
But the photos that succeed, a whole world are better than photos of a compact or bridge camera. And with a little practice to succeed, the remaining photos.
I know the D40 is a discontinued model.
Nevertheless, I can wholeheartedly recommend, the successor D60 is not much better.
The current price is an additional incentive and Nikon is a reliable brand.
