This is a preliminary test, because I was still on a feedback from the armature support, respect. Of the Ethernet connection, wait.
For stroke itself.
At first I had connected it to my front USB 3.0 port. Here I then had comic readings, that is much too low MB / s. Ergo my front port delivers too little power for the stroke. After I had taken a 3.0 port on the back, I have received acceptable levels.
I tested the Hub with two identical 4 TB hard drives by the company. Western Digital. Of course, with external power supply.
As software I have 3:03 and on the Command Line (cmd) tested the program CrystalDiskMark V. of Win7 64-bit.
Here are the results:
1. HDD 151.5 MB / s Read - 150.1 Mb / s WRITE
2. HDD 133.3 MB / s Read - 131.3 Mb / s WRITE
The results I have reproduced several times; the plates tested individually.
Further Test Results:
The appearance of the stroke in silver gray metallic looks super chic. The connecting cable with about 40 cm is good sized and the unit is in operation only lukewarm even after several hours.
Considering that this is a passive hub, he brings decent performance for its compact size! The small size also makes it very interesting for mobile use. The device fits loosely in your pocket or laptop bag.
Now remain only the problem with the Ethernet connection. Lt. Statement of support is the driver in the device. Unfortunately, I do not know how to install this driver. After plugging in a USB 3.0 port, my 64-bit Win7 looking for this driver and tries to download via the Win-Update function. The whole ends with a final error message "Ethernet 10/100/1000 device was not installed" Unfortunately I have not found a solution for the problem and prevents the fifth star.
A BUY recommendation I can give in any case, I'm sure that the Ethernet problem can be solved. Do not rule out an error on my PC, which prevents the installation?
I will keep you more up to date, whenever anything new to it.
Update: 25/12/2014
The Ethernet port can now happen, despite alleged error during installation!
He appears as Gigabit Realtek USB GBE Family Controller. Ergo you need not install a new driver.
At my request to the anchor support I have, however, still no answer. If someone not so "firm" with computer hardware and driver installations, the instructions included with not much help! Therefore remains the point deduction!
According to the English manual for the hub to be displayed as CD-ROM drive but with me he is not recognized as a CD-Rom drive. Also not in the Disk Management tool. Therefore, I also do not have access to the Ethernet driver. Still a little "tricky" the whole.
