Appearance:
Nice small, light * and very nice to look at. Blends nicely into the overall picture of my present components. The fact that a display is missing, seems to me quite right, because you have no luminous numbers that I may the approaching end of the film show (The time can be displayed by pressing a button on the TV set). The USB port is easily accessible from the front and the control buttons on the device are not on the front page, but on top of it, what a slip of the player, preventing the press of a button (* it's just pretty easily).
Connections:
The power cable is installed on the device. For me, the fact was not a problem. In addition to an HDMI port, the device still has an Ethernet jack, and the ability to connect the device via AV RCA (yellow, red, white). Also an RCA socket for DTS is installed. I operate the device with an HDMI cable.
Menu screen:
Owner of a Playstation 3 will recognize the menu immediately, even if it is not running as smoothly as on the game console. I (no PS3 owners) took 1-2 minutes to find me again cope. In addition to playing the BluRay you can also listen to music and view photos in addition to films from the USB stick.
Playback of movies on a USB drive worked fine.
Playing a BluRay:
Since this is my first BluRay player, I was amazed at how fast the player reads in the BluRay. In advance I have read in many players, but that it may take quite a long time. In both movies (Avatar, X-Men Origins) it went very quickly. In addition, I could hardly hear the drive of the player. It was pleasantly quiet.
I also was very pleasantly surprised at how good the image is. I have perceived no jumps images when changing chapters and noticed no dropouts during the film.
Playing a DVD:
Here I was pleasantly surprised by the upscale function. While it noted that a DVD is playing, but the quality was really good.
Remote Control:
Nice small and handy. I think they are well organized. Who has the ability to control with this remote control also be TV device. For me it is not possible.
BD-Live, I could not test. With standing internet connection you can then access additional content but of BluRays or the Internet offer the player use (eg Youtube).
