Vorneweg I can say that the kettle size / quantity is excessively designed just right for a single household. When fully equipped (1 measuring cup of rice and water to the 1.0 mark) gets you ready rice for more than one person / serving.
For my first rice dish I have used short-grain rice. Basically, I use rice -ungewaschen directly from the packaging, the nutrients are better preserved.
After exactly 40 minutes and a current consumption of 0,111 kWh and cost of 0.02 (0.25 / kWh), the device has switched from cooking in the warm mode.
The immediate visual inspection and a taste brought exactly the result I was hoping for. The finished rice had exactly the desired consistency of me.
Today I have a cup of long grain rice, parboiled (unwashed) and water to the upper mark, cooked. This time I did not pay attention to the unit has switched to the keep warm mode. After 1:13 hours. I checked and found that the rice cooker had already switched to the keep-warm function. My Verbrauchsmeßgerät indicated 0.197 kWh / 0.04. This time had finished the rice the desired consistency. The rice could be easily removed with the supplied spoon from the pot without adhering. Also the cleaning of the equipment, including pot (not dishwasher safe) is done quickly with minimal expenditure of time.
Conclusion: The results were very satisfying for me. The size of the device has the advantage that only a small space is required. The lack of on / off switch for me is irrelevant, since I connected several kitchens appliances as bread machine, rice cooker, hand mixer, wok on a power strip and each with plug with illuminated on pursuing / off switch. So I have the status of each device always in view.
Now I can only hope that this rice cooker is just as long to do his service as the previous model (over 10 years).
