Small disadvantage compared to previous series 484RC2

I already have the 486RC2 and am very satisfied.
For my Gorillapod I was looking for a little more compact ball head and it should be the universally acclaimed 484RC2. This was, however, now (now even with friction control) replaced by the 494RC2 that I now ordered. So far so good.

But on first use I noticed immediately a great disadvantage compared to the previous series:
The quick release plate has a secondary safety that needs to be solved in addition to the opening lever of the quick-change system to separate the camera from the head.
While this was always so, but in the new series of these small lever can no longer be in the position "release" into place. That means you must now press on both levers simultaneously to remove the camera from the tripod with quick-release plate. The thumb of the left hand is no longer sufficient for this purpose from now ...
Especially with very small and lightweight tripods (such as the Gorillapad) very annoying!
