Instead of a version with fully installed Windows I opted for an E130 version without an operating system. This is cheaper and the system is not overloaded with too much software.
Well then let's go: The installation, with Windows 7 as an image on a USB stick worked. The load times are good.
Overall, however, but a long fumbling this clean install. Windows to play as an image on the USB flash drive took forever. (HADWARE-Zickereien: USB Stick format, and create a primary partition did not work with the Windows Tool A small freeware program made the USB memory finally bootable uffz.!)
Then the surprisingly rapid installation of Windows 7 came on the computer. Despite rather leisurely USB 2 stick with Win 7 Image which reacted E130 and fix Windows was installed very quickly.
There was the usual: the felt endless story facility (facilitated by the Lenovo driver loading tool).
A little bit different and yet similar to my previous little (Ideapad 10e Ideapad S-205). The Edge 130 feels like a big one in operation, response times and keyboard: really good the click pad is fixed, feels solid. The click functions are different from the usual Mousepads: The entire Mousepad ragiert to click and the lower side (front) replaces the mouse buttons. This works reliably, but needs a little getting used to.
Two weeks later. The small box is good. Fast booting despite normal HDD, smooth working, as with nem large notebook, rugged housing and a really good keyboard. I like that the keys have significant hub that you can hear the inputs and feel especially. The family resemblance to my previous Lenovo Minis is: Good keyboard, robust housing, quiet operation, classic feel, (the Ideapad S-205 I had the shiny casing is always a little disturbed).
The running time in battery mode is great. Even the 10e and the S-205 were without power cross-country skiers but the E130 is as yet clearly a plan, measured not have ego, in everyday life but very convincing.
When Ideapad S-205, I had used more RAM (was easy to make). The ThinkPad Edge E130 offers more expandability via a maintenance cover on the bottom. One can an additional MSATA SSD in a free slot installing Insert (as the boot drive) and a second RAM module (helps wg. Dual Channel in graphics applications) or the HDD exchange for a SSD.
Off topic: The former minicomputer Ideapad 10e and Ideapad S-205 did next mobile use their daily service as kitchens TV with USB DVBT stick. They have mastered maturities, which are significantly above the normal application as gelegendlich-mobile PC. Both computers have done for years without problems. In terms of durability and reliability in continuous operation we have had good experiences with our Minis Lenovo.
