When cycling I've been using it with no backlight, which is perfectly adequate in most situations. Have a map of openmtbmaps on the device, display is very good, big streets can be seen very well in unfavorable light, in small ways can there ever have problems. Have the Oregon 300 and the Dakota 20 but tried in parallel, the better display clearly the Dakota 20. If you just need a map you also have the option to use the device as a tachometer, it sits on the bike mount bombproof on the stem of my mountain bikes, even over rough and smooth wobbles nothing. A very nice way, it is also set up different profiles, for example, one drive for wheel and another for hiking.
Very good I liked that at the point trip computer, the time is displayed until sunset. Use the PC the MapSource program from Garmin, allow the tracks can be easily transferred from device via the USB port. When you turn on and drive off the GPS is automatically started with the track record, at a very nice tour can this save right after and retrieved at any time. I find the Dakota 20 very versatile and I have therefore decided to do it because it is very comfortable to hold, the devices of Oregonserie were too big for me. Would buy again.
Supplement on 17.05.2010:
After a software error, Mileage tracks themselves could no longer save and trip computer showed after a reset false Mileage values, sent equipment to Amazon. How Amazon went the unwinding problems and me the purchase price has been paid. Error occurred on the way until after the firmware update. Of that I let currently only times the finger ...
Since I am convinced of the features of the device I ordered the same and a new hope that this lasts longer than two months. Thanks to Amazon for the problem-free settlement.
