As just described, the light modes can be set on the lamp head. Turning the lamp head, the lamp is switched on in the mode last used (memory function). To switch to the next higher mode you have to crank up a little until they go off, and get back to within two seconds the lamp head. If you wait more than two seconds to the same mode switches on again. To get to the strobe mode you have the lamp head six times on and to turn.
How it is now used by ThruNite, the workmanship is very high even with this flashlight. The housing consists of a titanium alloy (TC4), which is reflected also in the weight of 16 g (without battery). The lamp is to IPX-8 Standard (2m) waterproof (I have even verified) and is therefore also when camping / outdoor trip a good reliable companion. The really small ThruNite Ti uses a CREE XP-L V4 which the OP reflector casts a very uniform and wide light cone in combination. Thus, one can illuminate a relatively large area and from close range.
