At that time I was looking for a pocket knife to always have, that has at least one blade, bottle opener and can opener. Anyone who has ever tried a can opener with no will to open, see how important this tool can be. Bottle opener and knife require no further explanation. The Bantam offers all three, in addition a wire stripper (never used) and a screwdriver. In Detail:
- Blade: Neat sharp, even after a year of heavy use without resharpening still absolutely useful (slowly I could but sharpen ... times). Certainly not to be used for levers with effort, but it is not well done. Can be perfectly well open without fingernail use.
- Bottle / can opener / screwdriver / wire stripper combination tool: Has now opened hundreds of bottles without hesitation and turned various screws. The screwdriver (flat edge at the end of the tool) is not suitable for very firmly tightened screws as the knife lacks stability. For not too crass tightened screws but absolutely usable. For cross conditionally suitable (only big heads, since the tool but is rather broad). The opener is not sharpened - so do not hurt you look at the screw - and still works extremely well. Has been about a dozen cans of all sizes quickly opened and problem free. Already have proper opener obsessed who much less working well. For wire stripper, I can not say anything, I have never needed him. Presumably, this would work well.
For the functions that it provides, it is absurd small and light in the Alox version. It is about as thick as three stacked 1 cent coins. It weighs 27 grams, as much as a half sachet of baking powder. The length and width are the same as other Victorinox pocket knife. There is collapsed (of course) no sharp edges or similar, and because it is so light and slim, you can really always have. It affects not threatening, more noble, it also does not interfere in the suit.
What is missing? A key ring, or at least an eye or something. So the knife does not attach to a keychain, what it would actually be predestined. Too Bad.
Apart from a great Always with pocket knife for every situation.
