Unpacking:
Yikes - is tiny. But I said already. The battery is loaded quickly, for me it was even fully charged (according to indication). The enclosed charger is designed for smartphone owners actually obsolete, because there is already likely a micro-USB cable, together with charger at home. But beware, with some cables, the camera is not charged, better to try once or equal take the original cables from Sony. A carrying strap is also, while I was looking for a CD with the detailed instructions in vain. Only a Quick Start Guide in 19 languages is, but that is not particularly detailed.
Quick yet inserted an SD card, and away you go.
Turn On:
The small Sony already makes when you turn a lot of funny sounds. The sets later consistently when you press the control buttons and the selector dial continues, but can also be switched off, if it is felt to be too annoying.
The dial lets the user quickly scroll through the menus, the operation after a short time very fast out of hand.
The built-in camera guide is completely identical to the online manual on the internet, so I do not miss the beginning looking for CD, especially since I have so always the manual in the camera with me at all times and can read, even without CD and PC.
Test:
For their size, they can be really a lot and makes very few mistakes in the automatic mode.
Manual settings are in place, but professionals will keep anyway for other models out.
The exposure could be a bit better coordinated, but as tiny snapshot camera it does its job very good overall.
The various scene modes - now standard on compact digital cameras - are a nice gimmick.
Particularities:
Even 3-D images can make them, but unfortunately I do not have a corresponding terminal to check the quality.
As a special gimmick there's the 3D panorama function. One can as a loose details (by simply panning the camera) in pseudo-3-D images that made namely, both on the camera screen as well as via HDMI to the TV.
Panorama images succeed incidentally incredibly easy, just pull the trigger and rotate, everything else makes the camera itself. And that makes it good because you can see no disturbing transitions.
For close-ups they are also no nakedness, you can indecent close up to the subject of his choice.
As a miniature camcorder also delivers decent results, but longer films should fail because you run out of breath, or the battery. When shooting to get but quite far on a single charge.
Questionable:
Whether you had to squeeze really over 16 megapixels in the camera, was once an open question. Half would loose enough, and catered for reduced image noise. But the pixels delusions are obviously replaces all manufacturers, and if it is so pointless.
The so-called Clear Image zoom you can safely turn off, which saves a one or another unpleasant surprise. Not everything can be obviously expected beautifully per processor. But as long as one remains in the optical zoom, the results are good.
Conclusion:
A very small, very good camera for snapshots (and short HD clips) of all kinds.
