Because I want to run 2 external USB 3.0 drives, several pen drives, a mouse and an external DVD drive I need more USB ports on my laptop. The adapter works fine on Windows 8. I can easily data betw. Copy the USB drives, copy data from and to the USB sticks and read DVD / CDs. It does not require any drivers and there are no problems as far. The newer chipset + latest firmware probably solve the problems users have reported from other Hubs.

Now there are 2 stars less. Now I have more and more problems that USB 3.0 drives are ejected sporadically.
