First fall to the pleasant small dimensions, the device fits on any nightstand or desk. Very good workmanship. No dust collecting vents above. Front, top and knob are made of metal, plastic pages. Stable are also the 2 pairs of screw terminals on the back, which can be used well with banana plugs. The front USB is a bit difficult to open. The Input Selector is a button no scroll wheel, so when a source change more pressing need. Easy does it with the remote control. This is very small, and medium quality. Also SDEE and Mute can only switch on the remote control.
The back of the amplifier, there is the option for "auto standby without signal" and "SS-HA3" when the special Sony speaker uses (which I have not found?)
The power I find very neat for the size in order to get into trouble with the neighbors for a Living Party always enough. However, for me the sound was not very clear at high volumes. I tested the way with 2 HECO Music Colors 100 loudspeakers, perhaps even lying where.
The DA converter is actually really very good, I have my iphone connected analogous to compare times and there is a significant difference was audible.
There is also an app from Sony, this I did not use it, I do not want nor have another program. I use the amplifier / DAC on Macbook (rear USB) and the iPhone (front USB), both works of the well.
Conclusion: Nice device, but I personally think the price for the amplifier too high, especially since you still have to buy a minimum speaker to be. Also I would have still wanted amplifier with tone control. But overall not bad, if you know what you want.
