Not necessarily his best or zusammenhängendstes work. There are certainly more catchy and at the same time more tilted works of him that can be heard by more in one go. But Tom Waits happens to be Tom Waits, and so certainly is one or the other piece immediately hang in the ear. 'Misery's the river of the world' perhaps, with its rumbling "EVERYBODY ROW!", Or the slightly quirky love song 'Coney Iceland Baby', where after a long long time again echoes of "Closing Time", the master masterpiece of Ballads are conjured up gently, even if it a little paler and dull lights here. It rumbles, pumpelt, and rumbles again duly ('God's Away on Business'), and some disturbing images in the texts dive as usual also not too short on. Something smooth affects the whole sometimes, almost a little too> well> Woyczek
