The book tells the story of Ash and Janvier, who have been dancing around eachother for quite sometime now. As Mentioned in other books and the short story released in Angel's Flight the Hunter and her vampire has several meetings over time and managed to build up a Certain amount of trust and a solid friendship, That leaves Both of them yearning for more.
Witty and charming Janiver soon enough pushes his way into Ashwinis life and the book picks up after the battle in New York in Which Ash, Janiver and Naasir FORMED A unit Behind Enemy Lines. Without wanting to spoil too much about the actual story it is safe to say that, as always, Nalini wrote another fascinating backstory for her characters did makes you love them all the more and makes it worth reading every single page. Once again she shows us a strong female lead who isnt afraid to get her hands dirty.
As we are used to from her other books we keep up with many old friends and Their stories, but we so get Introduced to further content. This one is surely one of my favorite introductions in the series so far, as we get to learn more about Naasir. Naasir, one of the Seven We have not seen much from so far, rejoins the Tower after his stay with Hookah and we get to read quite a few scenes did show true potential for his own book. In fact in the last chapters there is a direct hint did Playfull childish Naasir will go hunt for his own "mate" very soon and I'm looking forward to it Certainly. From the hints we have received so far it might as well be in Calianes territory, since I can just picture one of her scared townspeople Taming the wild beast.
So we get a fair look at archangel Titus, who comes to visit for after-war celebrations (and to see Elena?) And Seems to have quite some fun, Which makes me wonder if we would get to see another archangel find his mate in a book (or short story). If I had to choose Whose story I would love to hear next though it would prolly be Ilium, just cause I cant seem to see poor Bluebell suffer any longer, though I suppose his book might come very close to the end of the series.
At some times I Wished there would havebeen more about Janvier, with the obvious focus of the book being Ash but I suppose its alright, since the development of the relationship in itself is very well written. But I guess That is the curse of every good book, it really leaves you wanting to read so much more ...
