For those who do not know the music here a few words about the music:
Talk to ya later: Straighter rocker with a -as always- famous Steve Lukather (Toto) on guitar. Lukather has also been involved in the songwriting. The title was incidentally sometimes gecovert of Richard Marx (sidekick of singer Fee Waybill Tubes) to "Flesh and Bone". *****
Sushi Girl: Is almost the same pace. Funny Text -. As is so often *****
Amnesia: First quiet number. A hammer-Chorus. *****
Mr. Hate: Here it shows again very clearly that the songs were made for the stage. Like on Sushi Girl can easily imagine how Fee Waybill here on stage incorporates his gimmicks (I'm not gonna fry your burgers ...). ****
Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman: Does my favorite line of text: "My God I screamed to my mistress, got a fifty foot woman in a Five Foot dress!". The image I no longer war aus'm head. ****
Think about me: The "second page" begins at the same pace on as the first. Gehetzte, vibrant full-throttle number. ****
A Matter of pride: a passage back, somehow funky *****!
Do not want to wait: The Ballad About the Tubes. In "Remote Control" yes gabs a taste: "Love's A Mystery (i do not understand)," but that's the increase. With David Foster as a co-writer / producer but that was to be expected. *****
Power Tools: I personally find rather bland ***.
Let's Make Some Noise: Funky mid-tempo song. Super catchy melody. Perfect end. *****
All in all an album as a unified whole. The soundtrack to their Super-stage show.
There was also the related "Tubes Video" on VHS. Since so make some strange interludes in the songs only really make sense.
The video is unfortunately difficult to get hold of. I had it once. The content is - unlike the music - very aged. The video is just pretty "80" and frankly a bit "bizarre".
The Tubes is using David Foster and the LA studio crack Steve Lukather & Co succeeded a formidable album. Each Toto-fan can buy the part unheard. For the old die-hard fans Tubes album is perhaps too commercial, ... but something is always. To the name David Foster have to still say: That was long before Celine Dion and Michael Buble. So do not worry!
After that came the way "Outside Inside", which is on a par. But unfortunately, there's the not yet of "IconoClassic".
Update 15:04:12: "Outside Inside" is now announced and pre-order at Amazon.com! Info also at: iconoclassicrecords.com
