This question will have probably made many. The reviews and especially tests, handouts, etc. have not always been positive on the Internet. I would therefore like the whole back at this point something in the right light, of course, from my personal point of view own.
Let's start with the packaging: Who owns a S4 (and presumably other Samsung phones), which is the "timber" know -Schachtel. The clock just as presents after the outer packaging has been eliminated quickly with much impatience. A first "UI, cool" while already overcame me.
After the box has been opened, you will find as usual that has what you actually bought it: the clock. There are also the obligatory charger with standard mini-USB port. However, the cable is securely attached, so that it can not be used as a connection cable between the clock and PC (because you need another, eg from his mobile phone). Otherwise, you can still find a loading box (I'll get into), and a few held in eco-paper manuals, but you do not really need, if you already so buys a clock, you will probably not 80 years grandma (yes, cliché !) his experience without touch screen.
#### BATTERY #####
First things first:
- Loading the clock is cumbersome. This could have been solved more beautiful. The problem: The clock must be removed in order to be able then fooled in this charging box. The reason is that the clock does not have a mini-USB port, but only small pins. This said box will contain the connection, connect the clock to the USB cable. Some say that you have done this because of the risk of contamination. I think this should have been able to solve otherwise.
- If the clock is first loaded, it holds about 2-3 days.
- After 3-4x store the clock stops for 5 days at me in the cut. I use them as a normal clock, ie from and to check time, appointments look, and that's it. After all, the additional features such as Camera and the other apps you need anyway spontaneously times. And you but then so is grateful to have a clock.
That's it on the battery. I am very pleasantly surprised. The only criticism is like saying the charging box, and that the battery can not be removed (screwed without housing, which I have not yet made). In 2 years you have probably but anyway a new clock, so this is for me personally do not care.
===> 4/5 stars (deduction for charging, otherwise there would be 5 stars for super battery performance)
#### Apps ####
The clock is based on Android yes. Still can currently only a few apps installed and which are also no tearing off the stool. Unfortunately. A calculator app for example are nowhere. In return you can 20 (or so) Fitness install apps that probably no one needs. This is personally one of the biggest weaknesses for me. The clock has not really earned. The hardware is great. In my opinion, you could offer to significantly expand on useful everyday apps.
There is also the possibility on the PC to install normal Android apps. However, this is not officially documented. It is supported not directly but via a detour. However, it is not expressly forbidden, since even an option allows this possibility. But then excludes any help with problems with the clock (if it resets the clock, the apps are gone, that you can actually not break anything, unless you rootet the clock and then bolted to the hardware parameters rum).
===> 2/5 stars (2 stars, because the clock at all Allows apps, otherwise there would here 1 Star)
#### Design and Display ####
The thing I like most on the clock design. She's really smart and a quality image (it is actually towards a "normal" clock). The display is super, as we know it from the AMOLED ago. The OLED is very light and can be dimmed in 6 steps, the last Schitt only increases the contrast. Thus, it can be read out relatively well in daylight. I use the setting 2/6, ie almost the darkest. Because even so, it is bright enough for me.
Otherwise, the clock continues to IP55 dust- and waterproof. That is not really waterproof. "A little wet" Showers and from time to time, however, works without problems. However, they should not go into hiding. In my opinion, a clock always should be watertight at the present time. Must now not be so up to 100m, 10m but they should do it. Why you have not done this here, I do not know.
===> 4/5 stars (1 Star Unfortunately away because not waterproof)
#### Conclusion ####
I think I mentioned the key points: battery, Apps and style. I was referring only to what really counts. That you can make calls with the clock and that even still works really well, I think that now is not so important, because it matters to me as the least for such a clock. The camera takes great photos / videos, but is nothing special about it (except that you like James Bond feels).
I would the clock only friend when the offer increases to Apps. Otherwise, you should curb a little and see what there in the near future depends on us. However, anyone who has the money, which I can recommend the clock. I have no real NO-GOs found. The design is very chic and the battery life surprised but very positive for 315mAh.
My result: 10/15 makes at 5 star 3.333333 / 5. :) And with me is as a computer since 3 at out.
