I think I have even read that the lens at f 1.8 not 100% until the edges is -ig sharp. The problem have all or many. I can, I take it. Who plays with Aperture 1.8, will usually always only a small area of sharpness want and this will mostly be centered, at least probably rarest in the margin.
Through the ease of the lens and the small footprint, the camera is very good and is not as bulky as a zoom lens. The sharpness and bokeh I find perfect, perhaps 1000-2000 EUR lenses because even better. For the price of 160 EUR I think that a successful SAL50F18 lens with which it is worthwhile to go into fixed focal lengths. Try it should at any time, at least those like me who usually photographed with a zoom lens and also uses at parties. That it has a bit more plastic than other lenses, does not bother me.
I highly recommend this lens highly and I am sure that the return rate will probably be extremely low at this objective.
Personally, I have tasted blood and will probably bring me the Sony 35mm. In celebration I'll probably get a little more on the picture.
Finally, a comparison of exposure times. Added the same motif Alike means at the A65 at ISO100.
SAL50F18 results 1/13 sec = 0.08 sec. at open aperture 1.8
SAL18250 set to 50mm gives 0.4 sec at full aperture 4.0
This results in SAL50F18 one fifth of the exposure time. Additionally, those who still want to sharper separate the subject from the background, will have plenty of fun on his SAL50F18.
In the photos above, I have uploaded one of the celebration with the "arrangement", it is unprocessed, only scaled down to the size of Amazon.
Have fun with the SAL50F18
