Mac McCarthy returns to rest in the family home on Gansett island where his family owns a hotel and various companies. Partner in a successful company in Miami, it is overworked, tired, stressed and after a huge anxiety attack his doctor advised him to take a month off. Although he left very early the island, there is very attached and this stay may enable it to take a new turn because his father decided to sell the hotel and wish that one of his son resume the case. But although Mac sorry to see the hotel on sale does not wish to be buried on the island but barely disembarked from the ferry it will overthrown and wounded a young woman who in the space of just six days will make the madly in love.
This young woman is Maddie Chester, housekeeper at the hotel of McCarthy, mother of a little boy nine months nobody knows the father, since his teens considered as an easy girl to false rumors. Feeling guilty and especially its capital profoundly attracted to the young woman, Mac will not only replace in his work to the chagrin of his mother but also his life. Step by step, the former playboy will become embedded in Maddie's life, covering attention, charming prince and knight in armor at once, falling in love with the young woman so unfairly judged.
Mac is a cute hero, it is touching to see all his efforts to bring down one by one the barriers that Maddie was built for protection. He is desperate to finally understand that the small community has misunderstood the account of the woman victim of petty revenge of a teenager rejected. He will do everything to convince Maddie he is the man of her life, and it is a sacred work. The dialogue is humorous, the secondary characters wonderfully encamped and Marie Force perfectly describes the lives of these small towns where the slightest gossip can transform someone's life radically. The second volume should be as exciting with the heroine's sister Janey Mac and his best friend sexy ferry captain Jo.
