The Canadian jazz-flyer Diana Krall is in their element on this album. With its soft velvety, sonorous voice purrs the singer and pianist ballads, including pieces written by Irving Berlin, Bing Crosby and George Gershwin. Also on board are Russell Malone on guitar and Christian McBride on bass that accompany Diana's voice and piano playing decently and round without ever pushing itself into the foreground. The result is a collection of jazz ballads without corners and edges, just melodic, quiet, relaxing music. I especially like "I miss you so." Overall, I find that this pace of formation is much better than the meaner rhythms that are partly heard on the album "All for you". (This is an Amazon.com at the university-student review.)
