Buchner is a German author of very high quality too little known in France. If it has been translated, there are few studies of his work in our language (whereas in Germany they abound). This solid book, comprehensive, well informed, written clearly identifies the major themes of his plays and shows wealth. It is particularly suitable for students, but it should interest all those who are interested in German literature.
