Solid gameplay and beautiful graphics

Ryse: Sone of Rome was my first game for the XBOX ONE and also practical also the decision to buy the console. The trailer and the gameplay had me very irritated in the trailers, but the reviews of the game are very mixed. Nevertheless, I did not want to let me out of the reviews put you off. Who does not want to read anything can scroll to the conclusion rapidly downward.

Updates:
Lasted very long, the installation and updating of the game. I had a good 45 minute wait until I could finally play. I do not know whether it was at the console, or download it took so long.

Gameplay:
Personal I find the assignment on the XBOX ONE controler very good. About the two analogue sticks you walk or controls the camera. About the buttons is carried out actions such as blocking and attacking. Additional functions such as orders and executions are distributed to the shoulder buttons.

To the controller in the game you get used to very quickly. As usual, the first missions are very simple and you can learn step by step, the individual functions. Basically, one usually performs 3 actions: hitting, Bocken, Shield Slam. The Shield Slam is required to defend the enemy to break through. The other two are self-explanatory. Blocking takes some timing, is the tricky block large / heavy attacks and strokes. Here you have to timen block precisely.

Even if the control is simple, I find you not static. However, there may be 1-2 more different enemy types. The game is very fair in many places. Hardcore gamers might say too easy.

Very controversial, the Bullet Time effects when executed by opponents. Personally, I find you not too long and well done.

Graphics:
The graphics in the game convinced. Whether you arg worse compared to Playstation 4, I can not judge. Very nicely decorated, the lighting effects, here you look at a lot of effort. The levels are varied. You walk in the streets of Rome, in the forests of England, defended fortresses on the beach or wander through dark Moore. Here I can not quite to carry out the review.

Story:
This is a typical revenge story with a few twists. I do not want to reveal too much because of spoilers. The story is not exactly brilliant, but maintains a good and leads through the game. The cutscenes between missions like me a lot.

German Synchro:
The synchronization is good. However, the voices in English fit better to the figures and characters. The German voices seem somewhat bland. In the struggle partly individual voices are a bit too quiet. This is but complain at a high level.

Missions / Level:
The missions include of Defending, oral and rescue all typical. In some places, you can decide where and how one can support the comrades. Where point I, for example, my archers and what I will attack. That's very nicely done basically, but somehow very little impact on the game.

Much can explore in the levels but not. Here the road is almost always given. Good solved the storage points. It is not too much and not too little. The boss battle is in various stages where there are storage points. Again, the game is very fair.

Conclusion: Ryse just made me convinced, despite its weaknesses. The animation of the fighting is great and it's fun to rip large groups of enemies around. The graphics are great and fits the game. The music accompanies the fight very well. Negative everyone Romans equals looks and you do not even can visually adjust its equipment. Man identifies himself only with his bad character. In the gameplay you are an effort to create variety. Especially in the squad run together is fun.

The arena fights are a nice break but take part very long. Many arenas you have to buy for cash as DLC. Actually, this is a small impudence because each arena between 5-7 euros it cost. Why not just an add-on for 20-30 Euro?
