Reasons:
- Long talk and standby times
- Protection class IP67 (protected against dust, water and sinking)
- GPS (without Assist mode)
- Large buttons (great for Wurstfinger owners)
- No operating system that will be updated every few weeks or major vulnerabilities has
Rating
It must of course be clear that the evaluation is often very subjective. The priorities for the ratings may be different for other owners.
Good:
- Solid construction, decent seals, nothing creaks or wobbles.
- Small but decent display, which you can still see quite well even in sunlight.
- Standby time: after first charging 10 days. Excessive phone calls, but a lot of play around in order to get to know the mobile phone.
- Viewer software for PDF and Office formats (you have to scroll though violent, but it is, after all)
- Built-in flashlight. Makes really good light.
- Buttons. Good Bigger, cleaner pressure point.
- Music playback. Very neat on headset, even on speaker you can listen to it.
- Voice quality. The rocks now really. Clean, noise-free, clear audio, handsfree well.
- Compass and GPS. Make at an outdoor mobile phone indeed sense. Positioning is quite fast. Recommended to: TrekBuddy (freeware) for maps and logging.
- Setup and Configuration. I found extensive and quite intuitive, the instructions did not practically used.
Goes so:
- Camera. The resolution is just a 2-MP and a photo light, there is not (one would have to take the torch for, right?). But had no special priority for me. When shooting outdoors with lots of light quality is reasonably.
- Playlist creation in the device. It is always the whole library displayed, including ringtones etc .. A selection from a directory about on a memory card can not. Here KIES further helps if one has once dealt with it.
Bad:
- Synchronization software Samsung Kies. Need admin rights to run properly, but at least it works for me stable under XP. But the operation is not particular intuitive, You never know quite where files are placed.
Conclusion:
The mobile Complies my expectations, it exceeds in some areas (voice quality, settings, viewer software)
