Somewhat sluggish, but easy to handle infrared thermometer with Laseranvisierung

Infrared thermometers are handy if you want to detect cold spots in the house, without giving a Thermograpfie commissioned or simply want to measure the surface temperature at a distance. I use for years already TFA thermometers (31.1108), which has repeatedly proven to be very useful. Since it is in the same price range, I prefer to approach for a comparison.

The 31.1132 is designed pistol grip, is so good in the hand and is easy to handle. The plastic housing leaves a robust impression, and since there are only 2 buttons on the unit (measurement, switch Celsius / Fahrenheit) Needless to look in the manual. The display is large, backlit and displays a lot of information, which actually only the battery indicator and the measured value / max value are relevant.

If the measurement button is pressed, helping a red laser dot on the targeting information of the measuring range, although it should be noted that the surface to be measured in relation 1:12 for measuring distance scales, ie when one is 120 cm away, the measured area is 10 cm large.
In addition, the maximum measured value is stored which has occurred during the period of measurement. Unfortunately, there is as opposed to the model 31.1108 no MIN mode, which can also be useful well.

In the measurement results reveals that the device responds quite sluggish. In direct comparison with the 31.1108 31.1132 which takes several measurements before displaying the same temperature, even if it was previously in the same room and was able to acclimate accordingly.
Even clearer on the measured difference when measured in areas with different ambient temperatures. While 31.1108 directly determined the value fluctuated temperatures displayed on the 31.1132 strongly before it ended up at the same value. This must be kept in the application in mind.

The 31.1108 is thus to handle the much smaller device and not quite as good in a direct comparison. It looks a bit "fummliger" to use and has no laser Anvisierhilfe. Also scales in this range of the ratio of 1: 1, so you have always been very close approach to the points to be measured, this is solved at 31.1132 much better. For the 31.1108 fit better in my pants Tasch / Leg pocket work pants (which you have to look for it, unfortunately, more often :-)).

Overall, I liked the 1132 in terms of handling much better and both the more scalable measurement range and the Laseranvisierung are Plupunkte. However, it is slow in the measurements before it lands in the "final" value, which does not have these problems 31.1108. Also, a MIN mode does not exist, in contrast to the 31.1108 31.1132. But as the 31.1132 is very attractively priced, and you can adjust well to the inertia in my eyes in daily use, it receives not least because of good handling 4 stars. Who needs a faster and / or more compact thermometer, which should look at the 31.1108 TFA times.
