The most obvious advantage is the visual appearance. Blue lights and brushed aluminum finish makes this device a lot more here than the competition by Sagem, Terratec or Logitech.
The display is easy to read and very practical because then the time and date are also displayed in standby while the backlight is dimmed so far that the gentle blue glow does not interfere in the bedroom.
Operation is simple, however, entering longer strings designed the unit bit of a drag - better off using the remote (which also makes a very sophisticated look and also by far and in extreme angle nor reliable work).
The reception of the wireless signal (all current encryption methods such as WPA / WPA2 with AES or TKIP are supported) is worse than, say, in a notebook, but also with several walls between the router and radio still more than adequate.
DAB works perfectly, however, I must add that my walls are made of wood. I can not say what it looks like in reinforced concrete or masonry.
The sound is exactly what you'd expect from a device of this size. No breathtaking volume, no sound insane, but perfectly adequate and uncomfortable at any time. For HiFi Fründe the device is nothing! This is also evident by the lack of RCA output. The only way initially following the "great facility" provides the phone-type output is for the headphones (this is in the manual but also explicitly recommended for this purpose).
Very practical is the flexibly configurable alarm (weekdays, weekends, once, recurrent, two separate alarms). Here you can also select whether Internet radio, DAB, FM or a beep to accept the awakening.
The radio station (Internet radio) are useful grouped (by genre, origin, Popular, etc.) and can also be quite convenient for Name Search. Very good solution is also to create their own channel lists on the Internet. These registers can be set via its Mac address (just over the info button on the device to find out) the Grundig web portal and can then and save own your categories (such as "Metal") in these catagories its own list of radio stations, which immediately on the Radio can be found in the Favourite list.
The 10 most listened to stations can be placed directly on the device on the station keys and accessed directly - something little verlgichen with the great selection of channels as a whole, on the other hand - who wants to choose between 100 or more transmitters or remembers whether Radio Korea now on station 73 or 81 was;)
It's just awesome to be able to hear every station in the world at any time without the problems known from terrestrial reception without interference and location limitations. Finally, I can listen to the radio Frizt again (found here in the cable does not) or EinsLive.
Sure, that all goes well with the notebook. But who listens with a notebook Radio who makes eh worry about a web radio. All others, the Grundig Cosmopolit WEB are almost unreservedly recommended. Point deduction's due to lack of RCA audio output (only jack) and the fact that only network operation.
