The Crest is the fourteenth studio album by Axel Rudi Pell, a German hard rock and heavy metal guitarist who is also named after the band simultaneously. The album which offers a balanced mix of rockers and genrytypischen quiet sounds. Starting with the groovy opener TOO LATE will delight all headbangers also songs like Prisoner of Love or BURNING RAIN. Who rather the quieter sounds preferable should select GLORY NIGHT or the great closing song THE END OF OUR TIME as out tip. With DARK WAVES OF THE SEA the album offers an eight-minute song, which is the second part of the Pell classic OCEANS OF TIME.

For more than twenty years of coming from Wattenscheid guitarist excited his fans. This will by no means be disappointed by The Crest. The album offers 10 varied songs, all of which are interpreted (except for the instrumental song NOBLESS OBLIGE) excellent Jonny Gioeli. The American is since 1998 member of Axel Rudi Pell and running on songs like GLORY NIGHT on top form.

Why is it still not enough for 5 stars? THE CREST provides solid melodic Hard Rock. Not less, but also not more. For maximum rating me songs that protrude slightly from the mass missing. Songs like DREAMING DEAD or DEVIL ZONE are interchangeable. Technically perfect, lacking the album the last kick, to make it truly a milestone. The fans of Axel Rudi Pell will be sure the matter. They are exceptionally well served with THE CREST. All other fans of the harder music can venture more than an ear. Disappointed you will in no case with this album.
