When I discovered the announcement of the CD a few days ago and saw the track list, I was totally excited. Finally, a CD of the "Golden Voice of Prague", which is published by all the others so far, in principle, always equipped with the same songs God CDs different, I thought. Straight from Karel Gott there are so many beautiful German language albums and singles, particularly from the 60s, 70s and 80s (ie from the vinyl era), whose songs have never been released on CD. Great composers and producers were there on business and have been with Karel together and for him her best: Ralph Siegel, Christian Bruhn, Ladislav Štaidl, Karel Svoboda and others of this caliber. And while Karel Czech record label has already released twice his entire Czech repertoire in high quality way and with lots of love and expertise (only individually all albums, which takes two to find on a double CD were, and then the 70th birthday again a extensive Komplettbox), the German fans with the same titles had always settle on the many low-Best ofs. Always reappeared over the years new sampler. But at this time a CD first publication to find a long lost fan favorites - as well as ever-existent. They have slept for many years, the people at Polydor, later Koch / Universal. Or had they simply no idea of Karel Gott Oldie repertoire? I rather suspect the latter.
So now everything should still turn out well, or so it seemed at least until the publication date of this CD. Although not all hotly anticipated by fans Karel Gott songs would appear at once, so this compilation of rare songs would be at least a start and would be hoping for more such publications. Because the concept is first-rate: Karel Gott presented songs that he carries in his heart, just like his fans to wear these songs in their hearts. And the choice is really succeeded. Even the biggest fan favorite "Behind the Sun", which also gave the CD the motto leaves, Mitscherlich all hit those higher who had this piece desired so long in CD quality the heart. Two, three years ago, the song was released on a sampler hit another company, but only as a crackling Vinylumschnitt. But now, it was thought, they would get finally in the master tape quality, but Karel Gott record company, where he is under contract since the '60s, has made this CD very own. But anyone who thinks here of the knotless quality, you are wrong.
The tantalizing hint on the cover "vinyl rarities on CD for the first time" the firm Koch / Universal has probably somewhat different meaning - namely, so that ended up in fact Vinylumschnitte on CD. Many of the songs have such a horrible sound quality, that it is simply an impertinence, to offer something to the buyer at all. And that, ultimately infected by the largest record company in the world here in the world behind Universal Group. Is it there so even to such an extent that we no longer take the trouble to bring the master tapes from the archive and digitize, but instead simply relies on timing changes of old, abgedudelten vinyl discs, which were on top of that obviously do not even processed? With so many herb-and-beet companies that inundate the market with cheap CD Scrap, no longer even one wonders indeed. But for the big house Universal with such renowned labels such as Polydor, Mercury or Philips a product in such a "quality" is just a bottomless impudence.
Around half of the represented here Oldies drawn from vinyl, which means "beautiful" makes itself felt when using earphones. In addition to "Behind the Sun" which concerns including "Wide is the wonderful time", "He was a second Paganini", "Maruschka", "Where is the time", "Tell me amore" and "You'll always be" , All of these pieces have distinct crackle and rumble plate, some have fluctuations and interruptions. Most clearly we hear the well at the beginning of "Tell me amore". What a shame!
That competent Koch / Universal people have gone not only with the greatest reluctance, but obviously with little expertise to work demonstrated by the fact that here the songs are touted as "the first time on CD", which it has already given on CDs, namely (on CD-Box "All around the world," Polydor 544102-2, 1999) and "Myriam" (on CD "My great successes", Polydor 831089-2, 1986 and on CD-Box "Tausendfensterhaus" "Do you know where - The large Star Portrait", Reader's Digest / Universal 060249847617-8, 2007).
A long-serving and high-profile artists such as Karel Gott and wanting to foist a technically so bad and inferior product of its fan base, in my opinion, must be punished. The person in charge of the record company and the man in the mastering studio, which has perpetrated these sound technical disaster, should it get the blue letter from the executive suite. Let people be at work that address the whole thing with expertise and love and remember above all the existence of master tapes at the next Karel Gott CD!
