So firstonce I must say that I still am a fanatic when it comes to quality HiFi neither a special connoisseur. I come from the Sennheiser MX 370 (in-ear), which I at that time without thinking big bought to replace my iPod headphones and has now given up the ghost. Since you have to say that the HD 408 sound clearly plays in a different league.
As for the sound, I was pretty excited right from the start, especially when one considers the price of the headphones in mind. Unlike other reviewers, I find neither the bass too weak, yet the sound muffled. On the contrary, I would reproducing - of course compared to the MX 370 - regarded as very balanced and pleasant. In the first days I had a huge pleasure, right across my music collection to listen to me (mainly indie / alternatives / college rock and punk, but also hiphop and older electronic music) and again brand new to discover a lot of songs. Because one of the best sound of no use in the absence of comfort.
