A prime lens with a fairly specific focal length at full frame. With the high light intensity can be despite Wide in Nahbreich objects very good cropping wherein there already has ran quite close, and still in a relatively pleasant bokeh what you do not always see in wide angle. The revised Mark II version of this lens has a top edge definition which best shows the full format, and thus also has in addition to the light intensity further pointed property. Chromatic aberration and purple fringing are at maximum aperture so scarce, the latter can even cut the 85mm 1.2 L II from direct comparison a little worse at F1.2. The 24mm on full frame are quite a pretty strong Wide thereby already having to be reckoned with slight distortions, what is important - particularly for portraits, which in any case higher focal lengths are better suited for such a thing. I use the lens like for landscapes as well as at concerts and some architecture. Often I am with this lens and the 85mm 1.2II go, these are complementary relatively well. Relatively so because sometimes I would have liked a few more millimeters, so a 35mm 1.4L would, in some situations would you prefer me. :-) If you look quite well think if you varies between 24mm and 35mm.
A truly top lens which bears witness to a wonderful quality in picture quality / sharpness and processing. It has a very high quality feel, it rattles nothing and it makes a very solid impression. It is also dust / splashproof. In my view, there is nothing to complain about at this objective.
