I speak of the species of the tilt / shift lenses, which have been devised for the Archtitekturfotografie. While it etc when photographing buildings, buildings always called. Converging lines comes, perspective correct photographs are possible with a tilt / shift lens.
Why? These special lenses the photographer gets the opportunity, the optical axes (limited) to pivot or move.
When using tilt / shift lenses but must be generally focused manually. I know the (very expensive) tilt / shift lenses from Canon not, but when Walimex also eliminates the automatic Aperture priority (for there is an aperture ring on the lens).
If the lens is tilted or swiveled denied the automatic metering of semi-automatic AV (aperture priority), the lens can be used only in the manual (M) mode.
Because as I said must be focused manually, I recommend the use of the tripod (together with the use of screen magnifier in Live View)
Processing
The processing of Walimex is beyond any doubt, nothing seems cheap or rickety, the aperture ring and the focus ring run well fed and are easy to dose. The lens is available without restriction to DSLRs with full frame sensor.
Focal Length / Aperture
The Walimex Til7 / Shift lens is a fixed focal length with a focal length of 24mm, which is to be settled at the wide angle.
The focal length is ideal for Landfschaftsaufnahmen natural or architectural photography.
The light intensity is moderate with f3.5 and an exemption of objects is virtually impossible (for example, close-ups of flowers) but this is for the application of Architetkturfotografie not important. As a rule, always photographed in the area with a much smaller aperture like f8, f10
The lens vignetting significantly, but leaves when stopping more and more after. The vignetting is easily corrected at the PC.
Image Quality
First of all: I tested the Walimex at full frame (5D Mark II) and on a crop camera (7D).
I had to have some time with the Walimex set apart until I had satisfactory results and also the focal plane so went the way I wanted them to be.
At maximum aperture, the center sharpness waste to the edges at full-frame sensors is already ok, but visible. The lens blossomed when you (I've made a lot of photos with f8 u. F10) Aperture F5.6 or less chooses, now agrees the edge sharpness and the results convince in the 100% view.
Certainly I'm used to from my L lenses brighter colors and crisper contrast than RAW Photographer provides me the correction of these parameters but not a major problem.
Conclusion
As mentioned above I lack compared to 24mm tilt / shift from Canon, which is twice as expensive as the reviewed by me tilt / shift lens, currently there are no alternatives in the price range for Walimex.
By Walimex Pro 24mm tilt / shift lens to get a real specialist at a really good price, however, which requires a lot of training time. The picture quality is good even at full aperture, stopping down brings again a little on edge sharpness with it. That leaves the question of whether such a special lens also needs.
