I have converted two halogen uplight. The LED lamps fit perfectly, but dimming was absolutely not possible (very dark). As I am an electrical engineer, I have the LED lamps clamped easily directly on the network first, and a foot switch connected between them. This I have now a very pleasant light, not too bright, but not too dark, perfect for my purpose as a living room lighting while watching TV. To read or as full lighting this LED bulb is of course not suitable! My uplight have each a reading lamp, which still are dimmable, so perfect combination.
Previously, I had achieved with the 300W halogen lamp and a corresponding dimming a consumption of about 130W, now only ca.10W, therefore objective.
