In terms of build quality the SmartControl Classic has definitely convinced: The unit is of robust construction and in the assembled state nothing wobbles around. Only the clip mechanism for receiving the shaving head has first made a rather delicate impression on me. The assembly is then often a test of patience. When Smart Control is all anchored firmly clipped once. I used it now for 6 months every day and so far nothing has been broken.
I also see it as a real advantage that the SmartControl no moving "3D" shaving head has. According to advertising these moving shaving heads are optimally adapted to the facial contour. It is, however, remember that you have to press an electric shaver with slight force to the skin so that hairs are cut as short as possible. In my experience it is with a movable shaving head much more difficult to establish the necessary "downforce", since the movable shaving head constantly tilts. Mostly you do intuitively follows: one "turn" the movable shaving head until it stops in order, so you can build the strength back without the shaving head can tilt away.
