The SatFinder SF3000 is, however very stress-free.
In Detail:
1. The small compass is of little use. Even in an open area, it indicates the south, where more is south-southwest. Near the house, he is also distracted.
2. In practice, the battery holder for 10 AA batteries and adapter cable F-connector to supply the LNB with power. Also included is a 20 cm long cable with two F-type connectors to connect the SF3000 to the LNB.
3. Only with no connection to the LNB 20cm cable shows my copy temporarily a signal strength of 25% and signal quality up to 8%. This is not a malfunction. The outputs of the LNB range from 950 to 2150 MHz. This frequency range is also used by mobile phone (GSM900, GSM1800).
4. The SF3000 has div. Satellite saved, when you select the Astra 19.2 degrees you can then select a transponder and receives the symbol rate displayed. Could we change as well as the polarization, oscillator frequency, DiSEqC. Whether this has an impact - ie whether the SatFinder not respond when you have the antenna set to "false" Satellite - I have not tried.
5. The elevation angle I had already been set on the basis of information from the web for my city. An up / down, press the mirror did not improve. The maximum for the azimuth angle was found quickly.
6. With the old SatFinder the meter was by the large mirror 90x80cm already at the stop. The SF3000 can here by the two bar graphs points: by twisting and forward / retracting the LNB I was able to increase the signal quality from 87% to 99%. Even my receiver was then at a higher SNR, just 3 dB more.
