On the Meridian Explorer I happened to come rummaging on magazine stand as a Mac Pro was shown on the cover of a hi-fi magazine, which was connected to a seemingly oversized USB stick. The corresponding article in the "one zero" made me curious. After the connection of the Explorers should upgrade to Mac for audio engineering excellence.
After a lot of thinking - the price is not exactly low at first glance - I have to "jump daring" and ordered the device. A good mini headphones from Bose to boot (My Holde is so or so strongly Reviewing the statement invited to request).
And now? Now I'm sitting here since beaten two hours and hear with folded down to the lower jaw. Incredible! What a sound from a PC!
With Earfood of the Roy Hargrove Quintet I started (gently). Divine Sound.
It follows Till Bronner with "In My Secret Life": What a difference to my ipod! (Do not forget: I do not understand high-end sound equipment)
Then a little more substantial time gait with Marcus Miller (Renaiccence). The bass drives up the pulse. But without the usual Gewummere. Crystal clear. Precise. A listening pleasure.
Even harsh tones (Deep Purple: Now what) are for a layman like myself transported in completely different dimensions of sound, without even a hardness just go forfeited.
My conclusion: The 320 are nothing compared to what the Meridian Explorer offers. For people who can not spend more for an outstanding sound or want, it is a way to listen to music beyond the quality of commercially available MP3 players or CD players without umpteen thousand euro investment.
For people who z. B. the train on laptop love sonorous music or evening in the hotel room want to enjoy music adequately, a strong buy recommendation.
Almost indispensable.
Shortly about the technology: The installation on the Mac was easy. The 2-3 steps to the functioning are clearly described in the instructions. Easy does it m. E. not.
For me, until now the product of the year!
